Tommy B is a small-town boy with a big sound. The Massachusetts native makes his debut with the release of the EP, “B1.” The six-track EP takes listeners on a journey. Being the multi-instrumentalist that he is, Tommy B gives fans an array of sounds – starting with the up-tempo, Folk Rock song, “2300,” continuing with the Country Blues song, “October,” then ending with the string-laced Ballad, “Aime & Chris.”
Tommy B’s uses his rich voice and flawless guitar playing to depict his personal experiences and stories. For instance, half of the EP is about relationship woes. There is a record about losing out on a job opportunity. But, he also touches on others’ lives like in “Aime & Chris.” “Aime & Chris” is dedicated to his father and discusses the duo that his father was in, in the 90s called, “On The Rocks.” Actually, his father’s music served as inspiration for “B1.” “Surviving pre-internet, there’s hardly any evidence of [On The Rocks’] existence.” Tommy B continues: “Other than an old mixtape of theirs, I refer to them as the band that never was. With their great musical works in mind, ‘B1’ was written.”
The EP really comes to life through the music video for “2300.” The vibrant video depicts serene scenery and gives viewers a day in the life feel. The lighthearted nature of the video perfectly pairs with the song’s sound.
“B1” is only the beginning for the seasoned performer. He has two albums slated for release later this year. While you wait for his next installment of catchy tunes, catch Tommy B at one (or more) of the hundreds of shows that he performs throughout the USA. B sure to stay tuned with Tommy B!
